Barbara Lynn Kahn

The family of Barbara Lynn Kahn share their sorrow in announcing her death on Jan. 9, 2009. She was laid to her eternal rest on Sunday, Jan. 11 in San Francisco, where all funeral services were held.

Barbara is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, David, of Scottsdale; her mother, Minnie Marguleas of San Francisco; her sister, Orene (Mike) Sanders of Grass Valley, CA; her brother, Edward Marguleas of San Francisco; her sons, Marc Kahn of Los Angeles; Rabbi Stephen (Michele) Kahn of Scottsdale; and her precious grandchildren, Ethan, Gabrielle and Isabel Kahn.

After spending 67 years in San Francisco, Barbara moved to Arizona in 2004 to be near her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Kol Isha (women's group) committee at Congregation Beth Israel and created the new baby basket program for all newborn children in the congregation along with her daughter-in-law, Michele.

She was a regular in the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and was one of 30 delegates from CBI to the 2007 National Policy Conference in Washington, D.C. Along with David, she had many beloved friends in Arizona who were dedicated and loyal to them both as she struggled with her "condition" of pancreatic cancer.

Donations in Barbara's memory may be made to Congregation Beth Israel, 10460 N. 56th St., Scottsdale, AZ 85253 and will be used for Kol Isha programming. Arrangements by Sinai Mortuary.
