Loren Bennett (Ben) Taber, II

At rest at home on March 14, 2002. Ben was a native San Franciscan born on May 27, 1936. He was a graduate of Lowell High School and attended City College of San Francisco.

After meeting Janet Stagg, they married in 1962 and resided in Corte Madera for 39 years. Ben was an avid participant of car rallies in the late 1950's and early 60's. In addition to being in the Army Reserves at Hamilton Air Base, he was also a fan of World War II fighter planes often seen at the Reno Air Races. Ben loved his yearly trips to Lake Tahoe and shared his good fortune with the Harvey family.

One of his many skills was bowling, as he participated in many leagues. Ben recently retired from Whistlestop Wheels, where he was a dedicated driver and friend to all who knew him. A dedicated husband and father, he always unselfishly put others' needs before his own. His generous nature, kind heart and sense of humor will be greatly missed.

Ben is predeceased by his father and mother, Dr. Clarence M. and Lauretta Taber, and his beloved cat "Sushi."

He is survived by his loving wife, Janet, daughter Katherine Underwood (Steven), sister Dale, granddaughter Claire, niece Cristine and nephew Marc. Arrangements were handled by The Neptune Society.
